Do I need the ThrustMapper to play a game?

You may not need to use the ThrustMapper at all. Games run under Windows 95 should support at least a 4-button, 2-axis game pad as a default control (your Rage 3D has 10 buttons available to games that can use them). Connect the Rage 3D to your system, install the software and run the Activator software to tell Windows 95 that you will be using a Rage game pad. Run the game. If the Rage works in the game, you do not need to do anything else with the ThrustMapper if all you need is a default game pad.

Please note: If you plan to use the Rage 3D with DOS games, the games must be run in a DOS window under Windows 95.

To get the Rage 3D to behave other than a default game pad requires creating a game script with theThrustMapper. Script files hold the information for automatically setting up the Rage 3D to work with a particular game.
